Minecraft Xmas Creative Build – Top 10 Part 2

February 9th, 2012

Now we start to get to the juicy stuff. The top 6, the chosen few, the prize winners. For now we will give you the builds that fell into 6th-4th places. Once again, our resident host A_Spec gets to wander around and check out the builds our competitors have crafted with blood, sweat and tears (and without sleep!). These teams win $50 for 6th, $75 for 5th and $125 for 4th!

Enjoy!

6th: Sunflower: Water Temple (Wins $50!)

Another epic build, this time by the team Sunflower – this temple appears to be crafted with incredible attention to detail, with intricate patterning for the eyes to feast on! You can also listen to the music that plays through the halls and calms the mind – surely this temple has healing properties?

5th: Mithrintia – Dragon Castle (Wins $75!)

This intimidating castle holds something precious – a giant dragons egg! It appears that the mother dragon is slightly annoyed by this and she has come to claim it back, with her furious anger taken out on the ramparts, she will no doubt claim her egg and destroy this tower! The bottom of the tower also holds a mystery…

4th: Aeries Freebuild – Samurai Temple (Wins $125!)

Featured in the live stream we held a couple of weeks ago, this Samurai temple really deserved its 4th position. We asked for Samurai, we got them and more! With 20% more Dragon, the build came into its own when the creators put the extra effort into giving the build a story, and we just had to show this to the world! We loved the Samurai jumping out of the hot air balloons!

Keep an eye out, because soon we announce the top 3 plots! Our judges did decide who were deserving of a top 3 place, but the final call was given to our celebrity guest judge – MinecraftChick from Mojang itself! We cannot wait to reveal the order these top 3 builds finished in!

Toby, from Mithrintia here. I admit, our build didn’t stand up in terms of interiors that we would have liked to.

However this lack of interiors was mainly from the lack of time, due to the fact that the first 2 weeks were spent excavating the hole in which the build was set in. I know you offered to lower the floor to some people, however not us.

Gah, I’m not asking for a higher place, I’m just quite peeved at the fact that we were forced to have less time than anyone else. If anything I’m glad we even made it to 5th, but my point about your consistency with entrants still stands.

sad to see mithrintia’s build at 5th, I had guessed it would have been top 3. I knew yours would be top 3 mckupo ( 1st is my guess!)

It was really hard judging everything – there is so much to consider! We are thinking about making any future competitions a more narrow theme so to make the judging more even across the board :)

    Winners post imminent!
