i46 - Insomnia46 – First Tournaments Announced
Straight off the back of one of the most awesome Insomnia events ever we wanted to give you all the heads up on the first set of tournaments we are hosting at our HUGE Insomnia46 summer event.
Signups will be opening soon, so make sure you get your tickets – we fully expect to sell out this event, and you don’t want to miss the gaming event of the year! Do not miss taking us up on the “Early Bird” discount – 20% off your BYOC ticket! Watch for more details in the coming weeks about each tournament, but for now feel safe that we will be hosting the following tournaments.
Counter Strike Source
This will not shock anyone – we are going to have our usual epic CSS tournament, with awesome online qualifiers and a minimum prize pool of £7,500. Thats huge! Tournament Type: BYOC
Team Fortress 2
This is the event the TF2 community has been waiting for! We are hearing about teams coming from the USA and as far as from Australia! Well we did not want to dissapoint them, the prize pool for TF2 is set to a huge £5,000. Tournament Type: BYOC
Modern Warfare 3 (Xbox)
After the great success that was our first MW3 tournament, we wanted to see how big we could go. This time, the minimum prize pool will begin at £3,500 and this tournament will be open to BYOC and TUP ticket holders. Tournament Type: TUP
Starcraft 2
So many people love Starcraft 2, and we are no different. We have boosted the minimum prize fund for this tournament to £3,000 (thats nearly $5,000!) and expect to see some big names, and see if d.BlinG can hold on to his long fought victory. Tournament Type: BYOC
Battlefield 3
Battlefield 3 will be back! Staying with 6v6 Infantry since it works well at Insomnia events. The prize fund will scale with the number of teams taking part. Also expect a separate fun tournament this time. Tournament Type: BYOC
Minecraft
Minecraft was a HUGE success at Insomnia45, and we introduced Spleef and Parkour to the masses. Both were loved and we are bringing them back for your enjoyment to Insomnia46. However, we still want to run the long-running Creative Competition and this time there is a HUGE £1,000 prize pool available for Minecraft players to get a chance to win. Tournament Types: BYOC/F2P
Fighting Games
Fighters at Insomnia45 was an excellent success, so we are going to go HUGE! Make sure you keep your eye out here for more information regarding these tournaments. They will be “PAYG” tournaments, meaning you pay a nominal fee to enter each tournament – 100% of this goes back into the prize pool! Tournament Type: PAYG

We are also exploring other tournaments. From the old to the new, we would love to hear your feedback as to which games you would like to see! Head over to this post on our community forums to let us know what you think!

i45 - Unclaimed World Famous Insomnia Raffle Prizes!
We hope everyone got home safe from Insomnia45 this week, and that you have managed to catch up on some sleep that will have made you feel vaguely human again!
However, there is still some business from i45 that needs to be addressed: we still have loads of unclaimed raffle prizes here at Multiplay HQ!
Make sure you check your ticket in your pass to see whether it matches any of the numbers below. If it does, you need to send us the raffle ticket with your name, address, email and phone number so that we can send you your prize. If you have won a PC case then we will be contacting you for a £10 contribution towards the postage costs, as it wasn’t claimed at i45.

i45 - Goodbye from insomnia45!
So, we’ve reached the end of the LAN – bad times. However it’s not all bad, because you can re-live the event from our coverage over the course of the weekend! Most, if not all the VODs should be online on Fileplay, as well as photos on Flickr, news posts on the iseries website and all the discussion over at the forums.
