First i38 Tournaments released

Wed 09 September at 16:42 with No Comments

Today we are pleased to bring you the first announcement of prize funds for our gaming tournaments at i38.

First of all we have a guaranteed £2,500 prize fund for the top 4 teams for our Halo 3 tournament on Xbox 360.  After the enthusiasm shown by the community at previous events we are pleased to commit our own funds to this tournament.

Also for the Xbox we have £500 for our Street Fighter IV Tournament on Xbox. Coming as a full weekend spectator? Why not join in the fun and try your hand at winning some prize money!

For PC Tournaments we have a prize fund promised live on stage by Craig ‘Wizzo’ Fletcher: £1,500 for the top 8 teams in our Team Fortress 2 tournament.

However, should the TF2 community rally and if we achieve 64 full teams signed up, we’ll increase that to a massive £2,500!

We are looking forward to running this tournament and hope the community rally to make this the best event for TF2 we’ve ever run.

Next up we have Battlefield 2. This game has had prize tournaments many times at our events before, and we’re offering £500 for the top 4 teams in the BF2 Tournament at i38.

For many events our Call of Duty and Counter-strike: Source series tournaments have been key in our prize tournament lineup.  Counter-strike: Source has a guaranteed minimum prize fund of £2,500, but we’re currently strongly seeking support for this tournament from other organisations to help bolster the offering to the CS:S community.

We haven’t forgotten Call of Duty and there will definitely be a prize winning tournament for a Call of Duty series game. We’re currently exploring all avenues of funding for this tournament to give you guys the best prize fund possible.

So just to recap:

  • £2,500 for Top 4 Halo 3 teams.
  • £500 for top 8 Street Fighter 4 players.
  • Up to £2,500 for the top 8 Team Fortress 2 players.
  • £500 for the top 4 Battlefield 2 teams.
  • £2,500 minimum for Counterstrike: Source.
  • £TBA for a Call of Duty series game.
